BITEhack, namely BEST IT Extended Hackathon, is a 24-hour event that brings together enthusiasts of automation, robotics, programming, and design. During this round-the-clock marathon, participants have the opportunity to showcase their creativity while solving contemporary problems using modern technologies. The main goal of the project is to enable college students from all over Poland to apply their knowledge to tackle challenges in the fields of education, science, and industry. Every year, we strive to ensure that the project addresses the needs of both students and employers.

Categories of the competition

Classic

It involves creating an application that solves a given problem in a technology chosen by the team.

Robotic

Participants create a technology concept using parts provided by a Technical Partner.

AI

An opportunity to submit an innovative AI project, which will be evaluated based on effectiveness, creativity, and innovation.

Who can participate?

We invite college students from all over Poland, aged 18 to 26, to participate in BITEhack. The event is aimed at enthusiasts of programming, automation, robotics, and design who want to apply their theoretical knowledge to solve real-world problems in the fields of science, education, and industry.

The most innovative solutions emerge at the intersection of different fields, which is why we encourage people with diverse areas of expertise to collaborate with us. Whether you’re most comfortable coding applications (Classic category), building physical prototypes (Robotics category), or working with modern algorithms (AI category) - you’ll find a space to showcase your skills at our marathon.

Participant Registration

We invite students from all over Poland, aged 18 to 26, to participate in teams of four.

Verification of Submissions

We are committed to maintaining a high standard of competition, which is why every registration goes through a verification process. We will send official confirmation of your participation and your admission ticket to your email address.

Sharing Materials

We provide a complete starter kit containing information such as a schedule and a parts list.

Start of the Hackathon

We introduce participants to the role of innovation team members. We provide full support throughout the entire creative process.

How are the works evaluated?

The results of the 24-hour work are evaluated by jury, which includes professors of the AGH University of Science and Technology and representatives of the event's partners. Podczas wydarzenia, osoby biorące udział w konkursie mają do dyspozycji ciągłą pomoc mentorów z firm partnerskich, którzy z chęcią wspierali technicznymi radami. Dużą popularnością cieszy się także speed recruitment zorganizowane we współpracy z Partnerem Głównym wydarzenia.

FAQ

When is BITEhack taking place?

You can find the exact date of the next edition on the current edition's BITEhack website. The hackathon is typically held in January, and registration opens as early as December.

Who can participate in BITEhack?

We invite students from all universities in Poland who are at least 18 years old on the day the hackathon begins and no older than 26.

Is there a fee to participate in BITEhack?

No, participation is 100% free.

How can I sign up for BITEhack?

Just go to the form at current edition's BITEhack website (while the form is open), gather your team, and fill out the application.

How many people can be on a team?

The team consists of 4 people.

Are food and a place to rest provided on site?

Sure! We’ll be serving you pizza, hot meals, and snacks 24 hours a day, and we’ll make sure there’s plenty of coffee and energy drinks on hand. When you start to feel tired, the Comfort Zone is there for you - a place where you can take a nap or take a break from coding for a while.

Do I have to be an AGH student to participate in the hackathon?

Although the event is taking place on the AGH campus in Kraków, we invite students and technology enthusiasts from all over Poland to attend.

In which programming language should the project be written?

You may use any programming languages, frameworks, or tools you deem appropriate for the project. It is important that your solution meets the category requirements and is created during the hackathon.
